A new church for a new generation

Relevancy

Some today say that the Church is no longer relevant to the world.

Impotent. Lost all effectiveness.

We don't agree.

Jesus died for the church. Jesus said that even the gates of hell will not defeat the church.

Jesus gave a mandate to the church to reach the world with the Gospel.

So, that makes the church plan "A" and there is no plan "B".

We also believe that 'changed lives' is what we're all about and the agent of change is the Bible. Helping people improve their relationship with God is a more urgent need than confronting their actions.

Serving the World

Jesus taught us to serve the world.
  • Many churches will serve the community with "strings attached." In other words they will do good things for the purpose of gaining new members. That is not serving, it is conducting an outreach event. Nothing wrong with that, but don't call it serving.
  • The New Testament spirit of servanthood says, “We do what we do with no thought of return." The ability to serve the world is not directly related to the size of the church. GracePointe is a brand new church, still just getting started, with a heart for serving people.
Here is a sampling of how GracePointe Serves the World;

Operation Christmas Child is an outreach of Samaritan's Purse, under the direction of Dr. Franklin Graham, son of Dr. Billy Graham.

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God's love to needy children around the world, in partnership with GracePointe Church, by distributing shoe boxes filled with gifts. The average cost to fill a box is less than $20. This year GracePointe collected and donated more than 150 boxes.

GracePointe is a Southern Baptist church and the term “Southern Baptist Church” can often be confusing.

Here’s what it means; GracePointe voluntarily associates itself with the Southern Baptist Convention (the SBC). The SBC is not a top-down denomination. It does not own our facilities; determine whom we hire or what we believe. The SBC is a voluntary association of thousands of autonomous, like-minded churches. Together we are able to pool our resources to reach people for Jesus Christ and His church across the United States and around the world. Together, we are able do what we could never do independently.

Through the International Mission Board of the SBC (www.imb.org), Southern Baptists support approximately 5,624 missionaries who are engaging 655 people groups, of populations greater than 100,000, around the world.

New churches numbering over 1,400 were planted through the efforts of more than 5,304 North American Missionaries, whose efforts are coordinated by the North American Mission Board of the SBC (www.namb.net) in North America and Canada.

Working together, Southern Baptists efforts resulted in more than 856,000 new believers baptized in 2012!

GracePointe gives more than 10% of our budget to the Cooperative Program. We pray, we go and we give. That's what it takes.
