A new church for a new generation

Host a Group?

Would you like to host a new Bible study group in your home? We are looking for area residents to host new groups. We limit the group's size to 8-10 people. Doing it that way will eliminate parking problems around your home and it will not be offensive to your neighbors.

GracePointe supplies the teacher and the host supplies the refreshments. We also ask the host to invite persons that they think would like to attend.

It's really pretty simple. Talk with us about it on Sunday or call our office at 623.933.0118.

GracePointe is a Southern Baptist church. Each Southern Baptist church is totally independent and autonomous. Each church determines its own programs, calls its own pastors, owns its own buildings and assets, and determines what God's plan is for their church. We are the largest group of evangelicals in the United States. One out of every ten churches in America is a Southern Baptist church.

Southern Baptists are the largest missionary organization in the world with over 10,000 missionaries in the U.S. and abroad. We have discovered that we can be more effective working together than we can be working alone. Therefore, we voluntarily work together to lead people to a personal relationship with Christ.

GracePointe is guided by certain foundational beliefs and shaping values. Conservative and evangelical, our statement of theological foundations includes, but is not limited to, the following:

About God

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

About Mankind

Mankind is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although we have tremendous potential for good, we are  marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin." This attitude separates mankind from God.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2

About Eternity

Mankind was created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.

John 3:16; John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; 1 John 5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13

About Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God to mankind. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works – only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her life by faith.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

About Eternal Security

Because God gives believers eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.

John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

About The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make mankind aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under his control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1

About The Bible

The Bible is God’s only word to all mankind. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

About Baptism

Baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is a public declaration that one has become a disciple of Jesus Christ. And while baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates love and obedience to Christ.

Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41; Ephesians 2: 8-9; Matthew 28:19-20

About Communion

Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus Christ to remember his sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant. The elements of bread and wine or juice are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. Communion is not a means of salvation. Rather, it is a testament of a believer’s faith in the atoning work of the cross.

Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19,20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

About Church Planting

The church exists to glorify God through the fulfillment of the Great Commission, and in the spirit of the Great Commandment. The Great Commission is fulfilled as disciples of Jesus Christ are made and grow in their relationship with Him and likeness to Him. We recognize the extraordinary value in multiplying the reach of His ministry by planting local churches and by associating with existing, like-minded local churches. GracePointe has already started another church in St. Ignatius, Montana, pastored by our former co-pastor, Dr. Charles Morrison.

Matthew 28:19-20, Matthew 22:37-38, 2 Timothy 2:2; 1 Corinthians 10:31
About Giving Through the Local Church

At GracePointe, we practice tithing for the support of Christ's body, the church, in obedience to God's Word. We recognize that giving 10% of our income is a biblical principle that honors God and requires faith in God as our financial provider. Practically speaking, we believe integrity is of the upmost importance in the way we manage financial matters. More then ten-percent of our undesignated receipts are given to mission causes outside of GracePointe Church.

Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23

About Religious Liberty

God alone is Lord of the conscience, and He has left it free from the doctrines and commandments of men which are contrary to His Word or not contained in it. Church and state should be separate. The state owes to every church protection and full freedom in the pursuit of its spiritual ends. In providing for such freedom no ecclesiastical group or denomination should be favored by the state more than others. Civil government being ordained of God, it is the duty of Christians to render loyal obedience thereto in all things not contrary to the revealed will of God. The church should not resort to the civil power to carry on its work. The gospel of Christ contemplates spiritual means alone for the pursuit of its ends. The state has no right to impose penalties for religious opinions of any kind. The state has no right to impose taxes for the support of any form of religion. A free church in a free state is the Christian ideal, and this implies the right of free and unhindered access to God on the part of all men, and the right to form and propagate opinions in the sphere of religion without interference by the civil power.
